Revival Health Clinic

“To be successful, we have to be among the people. Go into their neighborhoods. Enter into their lives. Be present!” -Fr. Jim Bok

In Jamaica, being present saves lives at the Revival Health Clinic in the rural settlement of Revival, where financial hardship prevents residents from getting the medical attention they desperately need.

“In Revival, which is much more rural and isolated than Negril, there’s no access to medicine and no guarantee you’ll be seen at the hospital, which is a 40-minute drive away,” shares Fr. Colin King. “Most people would need to take 2-3 taxis to get there, which is far too expensive.”

To provide essential access to basic medical care, the friars partnered with Jamaica’s Ministry of Health and Wellness to open the Revival Health Clinic, where a licensed doctor and nurse perform life-saving services such as wellness checks, cancer screenings, eye exams, wound care, blood pressure and glucose tests, and diabetes assessments.

“Most deaths in Jamaica are caused by non-communicable diseases,” shares Fr. Colin. “The health system here is free, but it’s woefully lacking in resources and overwhelmed. With the generosity of our benefactors, we can supply and run the Revival Clinic and focus on community health.

The friars can’t sustain this life-saving clinic without the support of generous donors.

Please, will you help us help them?
