Our cause
FRANCISCAN FRIARS Charities serves those who would otherwise be forgotten by society. Each year, over 5 MILLION people come to us for food, shelter, medical care, and guidance—God’s poor who St. Francis loved so dearly.
Our work makes a significant impact through various ministries and outreach programs, including soup kitchens, food banks, and homeless shelters.
Here are a few statistics that demonstrate how much we are needed:

South St. Louis
When the friars first met Reginald, we were struck by his day-to-day reality. Years of homelessness, walking great distances, and neglect had taken a great toll on his feet. Thankfully, he was able to cross the warm and welcoming threshold of St. Francis Seraph Ministries, where he received a hot meal inside the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Dining Room, shelter inside St. Anthony’s church, and the medical care he desperately needed at Foot Care for the Souls. This life-changing help is made possible by the friars, and the kindness of people like you.

I cried because I could stand on my feet and dance. I haven’t had a chance to move around on my feet because of so much pain.
So many people need this ministry. It’s a necessity because it’s hard out here in the streets.
– Reginald
It is more than just a food pantry. We do more than just feed people. We do more than just clothe people. We do more than just help with insurance…

SERAPH MINISTRIES
Maintaining good mental health can be a life-saving endeavor, especially for those who lack clean water, healthy food choices, employment opportunities, and access to an attentive, compassionate listener.
This is the case for many in Chinle, a remote community in Navajo Nation, AZ, who lack resources and rely on Father P.J. to accompany them when they feel lonely or lost.
Through my experience in my military, I lost my identity. I lost my spirituality when I was young. Coming into this church has really changed my everyday life.
– Larry, with Father P.J.
You start like “oh I don’t think I can do this” and then when it’s finished it’s like “this is beautiful”, it
makes me want to do
more.
